Jen Evenhus - Painter
Jen is naturally drawn to designs and movement found in nature, florals and still lifes, capturing their essence with simplification and exaggeration in contemporary impressionist and abstract paintings using her trademark style, “the beauty of imperfection.” Her work is known for its dynamic composition, bold use of color, negative painting, unique mark-making and confident application in Oils, Oil & Cold Wax, and Pastels.
Jennifer is a Master Pastelist in the Pastel Society of America, a Distinquished Pastelist in the Northwest Pastel Society, an International Association of Pastel Societies-Master Circle Member, and a Signature Member of Pastel Society of the West Coast. She is also a member of the American Impressionist Society.
Her work has been published in magazines such as the Pastel Journal, American Artist, PSA Pastelagram, PSWC Magazine and Pratique des Arts French magazine. Jen’s work has received many awards including the Pastel Journal Pastel 100 Bronze Award winner in 2014, the August 2016 Pastel Journal cover artist with a 10-page article on florals, and recently received the President’s Award in the 2019 NPS 33rd Juried International Exhibition in Tacoma.
